Your customers may not remember exactly what you did for them or what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel.


Focus your business and marketing efforts on how you can improve how your customers feel. Anything you’re changing or planning to improve, think about how it will make your customers feel. For example, if you run a retail shop, asking customers as they walk through the door “Can I help you?” doesn’t make them feel welcome. Consider “Let me know if I can help you with anything” would be less intrusive and make them feel happy to browse. Go through every contact point and think about each point makes your customers feel.


Remember to pay more attention to your customers – it really is that simple.
