Have you a business plan or a marketing plan?

If you do, you’re way ahead of many small businesses and on the way to becoming much more successful.

If you don’t, you need one whether you are a pre-start up, a start up or an established business. The old saying “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail” is very true in business. It can be a simple one-page outlining what you want to achieve and how you are going to achieve it or it can be much bigger. You can do it yourself (lots of examples online to help you) or get someone to help you. But get it done. It’s vital to help your business grow.

Are you implementing that plan?
Lots of business owners get side tracked from what they want to achieve due to their workload (and I understand you have to focus on what makes you money today) but take 10 mins at the start of the week to see what business development or marketing work needs to be achieved that week, plan to do it or delegate it to someone and 10 minutes at the end of the week to check has it being done. Small steps will get you there (if you know where you want to go).

Don’t leave a business plan or a marketing plan up on the shelf or in a file on the laptop – it has to be implemented to make it work. Action will always beat inaction.
