My marketing to do list


“Fail to plan, plan to fail” is quoted a lot in business but often ignored by business owners! If you don’t have a plan for your marketing, how can your marketing grow your business? I often come across business owners who have no clear plan for their business, their sales or their marketing apart from doing the same as they did the previous year. Which is perfect if they were happy with the previous year’s results but few are.

As Einstein said “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Try something different today by planning your marketing for the next 6 months. A marketing plan doesn’t have to be pages and pages.

In fact you should be able to get in onto one page by answering the following questions:

1. What is the purpose of your marketing?

2. Who is your target market?

3. What is your niche?

4. What are your benefits and competitive advantage?

5. What is your identity?

6. What tactics will you use to carry out your marketing?

7. How much will you spend on your marketing? Don’t make the mistake of focusing on question 6 before you have the other questions answered.

Get in down on paper and share it with all the stakeholders in your business. Then implement the plan and see how your business grows.
